Sugar shockers theme of library demo, food tasting

Discover the shocking truth about added sugars at a Healthy Habits cooking demonstration and food tasting at Warwick Public Library on Friday, October 27 at 10 a.m.

We expect to find sugar in candy, soft drinks, and dessert, but there’s sugar in bread, salad dressing, pizza, and yogurt, too? It’s easy to eat too much sugar, and if you do, you can develop health problems like obesity, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease.

Find out about added sugars, where they hide, and how to identify them, and learn how to make a delicious naturally-sweet treat.

Healthy Habits: Eating Well on a Budget workshops are based on science-supported nutrition information and presented by culinary and nutritional professionals from the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.

Cooking and food education events are made possible by the Warwick Public Library Charlie Cart mobile kitchen.

Sign up online at warwicklibrary.org or call (401) 739-5440, x3. For more information, call (401) 739-5440, x9758. The Library is located at 600 Sandy Lane.

This event is free and open to all.
