Rhode Island’s average gas price is the same as last week, averaging $2.14 per gallon. Today’s price is 3 cents higher than a month ago and 38 cents cheaper than September 28, 2019.. Rhode Island’s average gas price is 4 cents lower than the national average.
“Low demand, even as gasoline stocks decline, has helped pump prices decline or hold steady on the week,” said Lloyd Albert, AAA Northeast Senior Vice President of Public and Government Affairs. “That is likely to continue into the fall as the season sees fewer road trips, especially amid the pandemic.”
AAA Northeast’s September 28 survey of fuel prices found the current national average to be the same as last week, averaging $2.18
a gallon. Sept. 28th’s national average price is 1 cent higher than a month ago), and 47 cents cheaper than this day last year.
