Troup 1, Conimicut, recently returned after a week encampment at Camp Yawgoog Scout Reservations Adventureland earning 51 awards and advancements.

From the Advancement Program:  2 Tenderfoot; 4 Second Class; 2 First Class; 1 Star Scout; 1 Life Scout.

From the Merit Badge Program, the following badges were earned by the troop:  5 Swimming; 3 first Aid; 7 Citizenship in the Community; 3 Citizenship in the Nation; 1 Rifle Shooting Safety; 4 Pioneering; 3 Leatherwork; 2 Basketry Making; 1 Fishing; 3 Cooking; 1 Orienteering; 2 Archery; 1 Astronomy.

In the Outdoor Recognition Program:  4 Totin’ Chip and 1 Firem’n Chip

Throughout the week, scouts learning, were evaluated, reviewed and were recognized by family and friends. They enjoyed other free time activities such as Kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, small boat sailing, hiking and zip lining.

The troops meetings will resume in September on Wednesday nights at the Woodbury Union Presbyterian Church at 6:30 p.m. Interested boys and girls between the ages of 11 – 15 are welcome to join the Conimicut Scouts by emailing awhittaker3@cox.net or call 401-539-8344.
