Gaspee Days celebrations continued Saturday with the Warwick Symphony Orchestra performing in Pawtuxet Park that was followed at 9 p.m. with a fireworks extravaganza at Salter Grove. The display was visible from Pawtuxet Park where people spread blankets and brought along their families and even their dogs to enjoy the festivities. Gaspee celebrations culminate this coming weekend with a multitude of events including the 59th annual parade that steps off from Spring Green and Narragansett Parkway at 10 a.m. Saturday in Warwick and concludes in Cranston near the entrance to Rhodes on the Pawtuxet. The 2024 Gaspee Days celebration comes to an official close on Sunday, June 9 with the burning of the Gaspee at 4 p.m. in Pawtuxet Cove. (Warwick Beacon photos)
