Leo W. Garrity, 84, of Warwick passed away Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Fatima Hospital. He was the owner of several businesses in RI with his partner and love of his life for the last 51 years, the former Warwick City Councilwoman, Helen Taylor. He was the son of the late Robert and Ann (Trakimas) Garrity of Attleboro, MA.

 Leo was a graduate of Attleboro High School and Boston University. He was the owner of the Pizza Villa Restaurants in Warwick and Providence, Tropical Interiors, Forget Me Not Flower Shoppe, Forget Me Not Landscape and Forget Me Not Construction Company, all in Providence. Leo was the former Chairman of the City of Warwick Land Trust, past President of the Providence Sunrise Rotary where he received many Paul Harris fellow awards (the highest award in Rotary) along with the Fun Bad Boy Award every year, past Secretary of the Executive Association of RI, a Board Member of the West Bay League of Women Voters and previous member of the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce, along with Warwick and Cranston.

 Leo had been ill for over 5 years and never did he ever complain. He was an amazing, educated, brilliant man with an unbelievable sense of humor. He was a wild and crazy guy who loved running marathons, golfing, gambling and the beach. He will certainly be sadly missed and forever dearly loved.

 He is survived also by his daughter, Kelly Garrity Taylor and her husband, Jason Oliver and his step daughter, Sheri Taylor Conley and her husband, Peter Conley; and brothers Robert Jr., Patrick, and the late Edward and James.

 His funeral service was held Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 11am in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. He was laid to rest in the family lot at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours were Monday, June 10, from 4-7pm.
