Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England announces board members

Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England (GSSNE), based in Warwick, elected one new officer and four new members-at-large to its Board of Directors at its annual meeting May 2. With expertise in fields ranging from leadership development to government relations to construction, the GSSNE Board of Directors guides the Girl Scout Movement within GSSNE’s service area. The new officer and members include:

New Officer

Lisa St. Onge, Secretary: Lisa is a Managing Vice President in the Claims Executive Department of Amica Mutual Insurance Company, Lincoln, Rhode Island. Lisa has over 31 years of experience in risk management, customer service, and leadership with Amica. She is currently responsible for oversight of Amica’s homeowner and marine claims technical operations and catastrophe coordination. Lisa has a B.A. in Political Science and International Affairs from the University of New Hampshire. She has obtained professional designations including CPCU, AIC, INS, and AIM. She also serves on the Advisory Board of the PLRB. She was active in Girl Scouts for many years and is a proud parent of a former Ambassador Girl Scout who is now in college.

Board Members-at-Large

Anita Bruno: In 2019, Anita founded RI Women in the Trades and is the Executive Director. RIWITT is a sisterhood that promotes unity and empowerment for women in the RI construction industry. She is a 16-year union carpenter. She holds the esteemed NARI Lead Carpenter Certification. Anita is driven by her passion for empowering women in the trades. She is an advocate for diversity and diverse leadership in the construction trades and a consultant and mentor for workforce development and diversity in the construction industry. Anita serves as a role model and source of support for numerous young women navigating their paths through trade programs. Anita obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Organizational Leadership and Change from College Unbound in May 2022 and an Associate of Arts Degree from Boricua College in Brooklyn, New York as well as a Women’s Entrepreneurship through Cornell University.

Jackie Hague: Jackie is an experienced leader, an executive level enterprise athlete, a professional people-person, and an enthusiastic hype woman with a passion for top talent. She loves stages and spotlights: super-powers include leadership development, emerging talent development, facilitation, culture building, and getting people excited. Jackie has a BA in Rhetoric and Writing from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, and is currently Executive Director of Enterprise Leadership Development at CVS Health, the organization she has been proud to call home for the past 16 years.

Elizabeth Suever: Elizabeth joined Bally’s Corporation in 2021 and serves as Vice President of Government Relations.  She is responsible for managing government relations for Bally’s for land-based casinos, sports betting, and i-gaming.

Before joining Bally’s Corporation, Elizabeth practiced law with a focus on government relations and lobbying in Rhode Island. Elizabeth was a registered Rhode Island Lobbyist and represented numerous corporations and trade associations. She advocated on behalf of clients before the Rhode Island General Assembly on issues ranging from corporate and personal income taxation, insurance regulations, health care regulation, and business issues. She has experience in drafting both legislation and amendments to legislation to assist clients with achieving their legislative objectives. Elizabeth has also successfully represented businesses, individuals, and non-profit organizations before Rhode Island administrative agencies on a wide range of issues. Elizabeth represented a broad range of institutional and individual clients, both at the trial and appellate level, with a special focus on medical malpractice defense, long-term care facility defense, and insurance claims and coverage matters.

Rafael Yepez: Rafael Yepez is the Executive Director in Commercial Banking for the New England Middle Market banking team at JPMorgan Chase & Co. He brings more than 20 years of banking and finance experience to the GSSNE board. He has served in leadership and board positions on several non-profit organizations including Progreso Latino, Tockwotten Home on the Waterfront, Southside Community Land Trust, and Providence Community Health Centers. He is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island and is fluent in Spanish.
