Benjamin Dusseault, (left) a Bishop Hendricken senior who received a gold medal for literature in the Rhode Island Academic Decathlon held March 4 at Bryant University and Ja’Quan Burrill, a Toll Gate senior who received a gold medal for social science were among 11 seniors statewide winning gold medals in the event to receive $500 scholarship grants last Tuesday at the State House from House Speaker K. Joseph Shekarchi. The presentations were made at a reception recognizing the medalists and the North Kingstown Academic Decathlon team that went on to represent the Ocean State in the nationals held in Pittsburgh in April.
