Ethelmay G. Holmes (Morton), 67 of West Warwick, sadly passed away on May 28, 2024. She left to be with her late husband of 52 years, Michael R. Holmes, Sr., also lost to the family just three months ago. Ethelmay, a long-time resident of East Greenwich, was the daughter of the late George W. and Mary A. Morton.
Ethelmay leaves behind three sons, Michael R. Homes Jr., Howard Homes and George Holmes (wife, Jennie and daughter Tanya Holmes); two grandchildren, Dakota Holmes and George Holmes, Jr.
She was the sister of George Baton, Emily Jencks, the late Dorothy Smith and the late Willliam Morton. She was the daughter-in-law of Wanda Taylor and the late Nathan Taylor. She was also the sister-in-law of Billy Jencks of Rhode Island, Tim Taylor, David Blevins and the late Brenda Blevins all from North Carolina. Ethelmay leaves behind a niece, Mary Jencks, a nephew, Billy Jencks (wife Megan) and a large family with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
The Ethelmay’s family would like to extend their gratitude to Julie from the VNA who cared for Ethelmay and Michael for the last three years. Ethelmay was a very important person in the many lives she touched; always showing love, care and kindness.
Funeral arrangements will be held by the family at a later date.
