While Conimicut Village Association president Leslie Derrig planned on three farms participating Saturday for the second week of a farmers market, last week’s weather wasn’t cooperative and sufficient produce wasn't harvested to make it possible. Yet, a misty Saturday did not stop the market held in the parking lot at 955 West Shore Road from opening. The location is the site for a third restaurant featuring Nigerian and African food, owned and operated by Toyin-Wilcox-Olatunji. Farmers market visitors were provided with a taste of what the restaurant would offer. A selection of foods from meat pies to spicy rice with plantains was available to purchase.
