Jerome O. Thompson, 93, passed away Friday, June 7, 2024, at the RI Veterans Home in Bristol. He was the husband of the late Doris H. (Wanamaker) Thompson. Born in Newman Grove, NE he was the son of the late Teman and Tilley (Huseby) Thompson. Jerome was the beloved father of Deborah H. Bacani (Ricardo), Diane L. Barber (Robert), and David O. Thompson, WPD Ret. (Patricia). Loving Papa to Tai, Allison, Brandon, Cameron, Mason, Michael, Evan, and Chantelle; loving great-Papa to Julia, Bean, Phineas, Ophelia, and Phoenix. He was the brother of Eleanor Weed and the late Clarice Larsen, Merlin Thompson, Earl Thompson, Harold Thompson, Tilman Thompson, Janet Schlender and Ida Schantell.
Jerome was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the Navy Seabees. He then worked as an auto mechanic for Warwick Ford and Dexter Auto before retiring. He was a member of the Tri City Elks Lodge #14 and the American Legion William Shields Post 43.
His funeral service will be held Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 11:00am in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick.
