Pilgrim, Toll Gate and Warwick Vets joined competitive cheerleading teams from around the state on Saturday for the state meet at the Providence Career & Technical Academy. Toll Gate was the high scorer among Warwick schools, with 162.3 points, which was good for sixth place in the medium schools division and 10th overall. Warwick Vets was seventh in the medium schools division and 12th overall with 157.9 points. Pilgrim tallied 98.3 points, which left them in fourth in the large schools division and 26th overall. There was also a JV competition, and Warwick Vets took first place in that division. North Providence was the overall state champ, while La Salle won the large schools championship, Narragansett took the small schools title and Woonsocket won the co-ed division.
