To the Editor:
While Democrats were dozing, conservatives were building a network of radio and television stations, newspapers, magazines and “think tanks.” While Democrats were dozing, conservatives were packing the Supreme Court with right-wing ideologues. And while Democrats were dozing, conservatives were gaining control of state governments.
The result is a nonstop, one-sided stream of divisive right-wing propaganda, spreading misinformation and division. Supreme Court has opened the floodgates to anonymous money from wealthy donors and corporations, seeking to twist the government into doing their bidding. And Republican-controlled state legislatures have gerrymandered districts to such a degree that even though Republicans got 1.4 million votes less than the Democrats in the last election, Republicans still retained control of the House by a 234-201 majority.
While Democrats dozed, Republicans bulldozed. Republicans suppressed minority votes, attacked the rights of women and killed efforts to create jobs and rebuild our infrastructure; all the while fighting for more tax breaks for corporations and the wealthiest few.
Democrats were again dozing earlier this year when they failed to put an end to the Republican filibuster, which has so crippled the Senate and ended the idea of majority rule. As a result, a minority of obstructionists were able to defeat a very modest bill to check the background of gun buyers.
Shame on the Republicans for, once again, putting special interests ahead of common sense reform.
And shame on the Democrats for letting them do it, yet again.

If the Bulldozing by Republicans saves the life of one baby from the Democrats so called "Choice", I will continue to vote Republican until I die. Take a look at the Liberalization of this country and how it is leading to a country falling apart. Illegal Immigrants "demanding" driver's licenses and living off of taxpayers money, and a generation of youth growing up with the feeling of entitlements blows my mind. If that makes me an extremist, then I gladly wear that badge.
