The Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra & Music School presents Beethoven & Bronfman, part of the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra and Music School’s 2024 Gala Celebration. Yefim Bronfman will headline the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra’s Saturday, June 1 Gala Concert at The VETS, with Tito Muñoz conducting. Both will join sponsor-level ticket holders for a post-concert Gala Dinner at the WaterFire Arts Center later that evening.

The program includes Jessie Montgomery’s Starburst, Schumann’s Piano Concerto, op. 54 in A minor, Schumann’s Piano Quintet, op. 44 in E-flat major, I. Allegro Brillante (featuring students from the Rhode Island Philharmonic Music School) and Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4, op. 58 in G major.

Those wishing to attend the Gala Concert can purchase various levels of tickets, including sponsor-level seats which include the post-show Gala Dinner and Celebration. The evening supports and celebrates the Rhode Island Philharmonic & Music School’s mission: to make music accessible to all in Rhode Island through music education scholarships and community programs. Internationally recognized as one of today’s most acclaimed and admired pianists, Yefim Bronfman stands among a handful of artists regularly sought by festivals, orchestras, conductors and recital series. His commanding technique, power and exceptional lyrical gifts are consistently acknowledged by the press and audiences alike. He has an impressive history: a protégé of Isaac Stern, he studied with Rudolf Serkin and Leon Fleisher, roomed with Yo-Yo Ma and made his first major orchestral appearances in the U.S. under the baton of Leonard Bernstein. The New York Times describes him as “a pianist with comprehensive skills who can seemingly play anything.”

Born in Queens, New York, Tito Muñoz began his musical training as a violinist in New York City public schools. He made his professional conducting debut in 2006 with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center and made his Cleveland Orchestra debut at the Blossom Music Festival that same year. Now in his tenth season as the Virginia G. Piper Music Director of The Phoenix Symphony, Tito Muñoz previously served as Music Director of the Opéra National de Lorraine and the Orchestre symphonique et lyrique de Nancy in France. Other prior appointments include assistant conductor positions with the Cleveland Orchestra, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra and the Aspen Music Festival.

Experience the unforgettable on June 1 at The VETS when you customize your evening to include sponsor-level seating for Yefim Bronfman’s performance and seating at the post-show dinner, all while celebrating and supporting the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra & Music School. Your support will help make music accessible to all in Rhode Island through music education scholarships and community programs like Link Up and Victoria’s Dream Project. Enjoy a fun-filled evening of cocktails, music performances, dinner, and the awarding of the John Hazen White, Sr. Leadership in the Arts Award to the Papitto Opportunity Connection.
